During Christmas, we have often left longing for more. This is not only our personal experience but the story of the whole world. The story of Christmas reminds us that God came to fulfill our deepest longings. In this advent series, we'll explore how Jesus is not only the fulfillment of Israel’s hopes and dreams but the fulfillment of our deepest longings and desires. (In this season we come to Christ — who was the fulfillment — to become our fulfillment. It’s a double fulfillment.)
Weariness. Exhaustion. Burnout. Anxiety. Our quality of life has taken a hit this past year. Maybe you've taken that vacation, updated your kitchen, or crammed your schedule with exciting activities. But when you try to go back to “normal life,” you realize that it doesn't satisfy your deep need for joy, peace, and rest. This series will show us how to truly recover our lives by engaging in practices that will replenish and restore us.
It's easy to forget why we need to gather together as God's people. Hebrews 10:25 reminds us to "not give up the habit of gathering together, as some are doing"… In this series, Gathered, from the book of Acts, we will look at what happens when the church gathers together. What we will see is that our proximity to one another and to God releases power to change the world.
This series from Nehemiah picks up from the return from exile for the Israelites to find Jerusalem and the Temple in disrepair. The walls had fallen down, the Temple was in disrepair, and the homes were in ruins. Everything needed to be rebuilt and restored. Sound familiar? As we return to life after a pandemic, we need to intentionally rebuild our lives, our families, our church, and our world. Let's Rebuild!
